Description
Incredibly refined and elegant, our Kelly Washington Pinot Blanc shows a wonderful synergy between vibrancy of fruit, phenolic structure and texture. Seamlessly dry and lengthy, the wine shows off nicely the minimal intervention in winemaking practise, yet is also expressive and fleshy, with ample concentration.

Vineyard
Sourced from The Rapaura Vineyard in the Wairau Valley. A sheltered, warm site, the 24 year old vines are planted on sandy loam over clay soils.
Vinification
Grapes were hand-harvested and 100% whole bunch pressed and commenced fermentation naturally after 4 days, on full lees using wholly native yeast. Fermented in a cement egg, and two second fill French Oak barriques.
Maturation
After fermentation, the wine remained on full lees for 9 months, in the cement egg. Undergoing natural malolactic fermentation it was then bottled unfined with a light filtration.
